Misty the glider possum
was stirring from her sleep. It was late in the afternoon and
soon, when darkness came, it would be time to look for food. For
Misty is a creature of the night time and darkness is her friend.
She
glided down to a paperbark tree to see if any of her friends were
around. But she could not find anyone. "Perhaps they are over
at the creek", she thought. "I'll glide over and have
a look".
The
creek was very beautiful in the late afternoon light. The rocks
were still warm from the sunny day and the water had lots of reflections.
It was very quiet and peaceful, but there was still no sign of her
friends.
Suddenly she heard a voice
say "hello Misty". Down below on the ground was Bounce
the Wallaroo, eating some grass. "Hello Bounce" said
Misty, "you are making me feel hungry". I think I'll
glide over to the eucalyptus forest to find some tasty leaves".
"Good idea" said Bounce, "see you later."
